Key Points

  1. Accounts: These are the basic units of data storage on Solana. Each account acts like an entry in a key-value store, identified by a unique address (key).
  2. Size: It can store up to 10MB of data.
  3. Rent: Storing data in accounts requires a rent deposit in SOL . The rent is proportional to the data size and is refundable when the account is closed.
  4. Ownership: Each account is owned by a program, which can modify its data and balance. However, anyone can increase the balance.
